Fanny Bloom (she of La Patere Rose, she of the synthetically great Apprentie Guerriere solo debut) likes to change her style. Her new single (album’s coming up after summer) is a brass heavy, twerkin’ pool party. What do you think?

French girls, singing. No, sighing. Making me sigh. Ah.

Really not sure. I’ve listened to this song over and over, but to me there’s just a huge disjoint between her voice (at least when she’s singing as opposed to “yeah eah-ing”) and the-by-the-numbers beat. Anyone else think the lyrics are fairly awful? Think I’d have to defer to Maks on this, although at least it is better than the Loud Lary Ajust collaboration… Just hoping that in the context of a new album this song makes sense.

I had the same feeling, but it grows on you. On me, at least.

It’s not a bad thing to re-invent yourself every now and then, but I’m afraid I don’t dig this one. Whatever happened to the original song structures? Where are the silly little instrument twists? But most of all: where is the absolute USP, her beautiful hoarse somewhat childish voice, gone?
    Re-invention is not an obligation.
Will the real Fanny please stand up?
