New single, and it’s GREAT
Staplin, a duo fishing in the same pond as Nicolas & JB from Air, love the cinema. And soundtracks. So they made an album with music for movies. And they called some guest singers, like the phenomenal Halo Maud. BUT, the catch here is a track featuring the pipes of April March. Yes, still alive and singing.
Lovely French (not Canadian, my bad) songstress Clara Luciani, she of the wonderful, hook-laden Sainte-Victoire album, recorded two notable duets lately. One part-French/part-English version of Lee Hazlewood/Nancy Sinatra’s Summer Wine.
And this very doux duet with Julien Doré:
Very folktronic debut of this gentile French singer. She’s just starting, this is her first single.
Not to be confused with Julien Clerc’s daughter, this Vanille is Rachel Leblanc, from Canada. Her ‘Fleur’ single ticks ALL the boxes of the things we love here about soft-focus French pop music.
Louise named herself after the famous street where Gainsbourg used to live (and sort of re-lives nowadays). Her first album is just fantastic. See this live clip, get enamoured too.

It is HERE, the new playlist to emphasize the frenchiness of your summer. Featuring Charlotte, Claude (both Camp and Fontaine), Christine, L’Imperatrice, L’Eclair and waaaaaay more. Happy summer!
