It’s out there, people. The Super Deluxe box set of Histoire de Melody Nelson. I’m picking up my copy this Friday. I expect it to be BRILLIANT. Here’s the full version of Melody, a glorious nine-and-a-half-minutes long.

Totally impressed with the documentary. Lots of stuff I didn’t know. Great home movies (and cassette tapes) of Jane. You NEED the inedits CD that came with the first Forever box (for Cameraman A Mes Temps Perdus (Publicites Martini and Melody Nelson (Publicites Martini)) and and La fille qui fait tchic-ti-tchic by Michèle Mercier to fully appreciate this.

    Thanks Guuz,

The music on the Prise Complet is superb, especially the jazzy bass by Herbie ‘Walk On the Wild Side’ Flowers. I love the way the band pieces intertwine with the orchestral brushstrokes. The sound quality is extraordinary. What a discovery! I hope the album also contains an instrumental version of the Prise Complet, since the voice-over, to me at least, remains a bit of an acquired taste
