I waxed enthusiastically about young Juliette’s debut album, but I don’t really see the point of these covers. The songs been covered a million times before the majority better than the two here.

‘ Talking about my g … g … generation ‘ , that lyric from ‘ 7 h du matin ‘ evokes memories of 40, 45 years ago, when English songs were so popular in the world that even people which were otherwise completely innocent of the English language could sing whole songs from The Who & The Beatles & their contemporaries. I was, one day, in a queue in France, waiting to buy something at a small store, when a teenage girl, the daughter of some friends of mine whom I had come to see, recognised me from outside & rushed inside & up to me & breathlessly said : ‘ I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in ! ‘ ; she then smiled, waved, & walked out, leaving everyone perplexed, including me, since I did not recognise her ! –reader
