Not a useful version of ‘La Mer’ to my mind !

Francoise Hardy’s version is not that well-known – no live performances of it were filmed. There is one video of her singing ‘La Mer’ – ex-German TV 1965. See

Both Charles Trenet’s original of ‘La Mer’ and Francoise Hardy’s cover were used in different parts of the American TV series ‘Lost’ – clips can be found on YouTube.

I’ve seen them live a lot these years and they are amazing, their upcoming album will please everyone who loves saint etienne, bjork and au revoir simone.

Some of their songs (mostly in english) are featured in the quite pleasant movie “Chercher le garçon”.
